VIP Killfeed

Documentation

Set up VIP Killfeed, then look anything up: guides for each feature and every slash command with its options.

132 commands · 78 for staff · built from the bot itself

Getting started

From invite to your first kill in the feed, in about five minutes. You need a Nitrado DayZ server (Xbox or PlayStation; Chernarus, Livonia, Sakhal or Badlands) and Manage Server on your Discord.

1

Add the bot

Press Add to Discord, pick your server and authorize with every box ticked. The bot needs Manage Channels and Manage Roles to build its channels, never Administrator.

Tip: You get a welcome DM with these steps.

2

Run /setup

A private panel opens. Untick any channel you don't want, optionally limit the player channels to a role (VIP, Member…), then press Create channels. You get the Killfeed Staff role; give it to your moderators.

#killfeed#pvefeed#auto-leaderboard#global-leaderboard#economy#casino#shop#zone-alerts#admin-alerts#ban-log#live-map

Tip: /setup is safe to run again any time: it keeps what exists and rebuilds what is missing. Run it after an update so new commands appear.

3

Connect Nitrado

On nitrado.net open Developer → Long life tokens, tick only the service scope, create it and copy it. On the /setup panel press Connect Nitrado and paste it into the private form. If the token sees several servers, pick yours, then check the map.

Careful: Never paste the token into a channel or DM. The form is private and the token is encrypted the moment the bot receives it. The service scope cannot spend money or change your account.

4

Check three Nitrado settings

Admin logs onThe killfeed, stats and alerts read the admin log.
Disable Multi-Account Mitigation: offLets the server log device ids, which is how banned players on new accounts are caught.
cfggameplay.json onOnly for in-game shop delivery.
5

Send a test kill

Press Send a test kill on the panel. A sample appears in #killfeed; real kills follow about a minute after they happen.

Carded or simple: posts start as glass image cards. /killfeed style style:simple, or Post style on the dashboard's Feeds page, switches the kill, death, connection, hit, emote, build and bounty feeds to plain embeds: bold labels, both players' records as text, a colour per kill type (headshots neon purple).
6

Players link their gamertag

Players run /link name:YourGamertag in #link-gamertag. Linking is what puts them on the global ranks, lets them use the economy and shop, and (with the whitelist on) lets them join at all.

Tip: Paste the announcement from Tell your players into your announcements channel.

The web dashboard

Everything the slash commands do, plus the things that are easier with a mouse.

Open vipbot.dev/dashboard and log in with Discord. You see every server where you have Manage Server and the bot is set up. Changes run the same handlers as the slash commands and are logged with your Discord id.

Ops black and Ops white

The dashboard opens in Ops black. The half-moon button in the top bar switches to Ops white and remembers your choice.

Factions

Create a faction for someone, add several players at once (each gets the role and a DM), set leader and co-leaders, edit the bio, flag, armband, motto and colour, move bank money, disband.

Zones

Draw circles and polygons on your server's map for watched zones, faction territory and airdrop sites. See Zones.

Ranks and leaderboards

Two rank systems, two boards.

Server ranks

Ten ranks by PvP kills on your server, each with an icon. Pick one of six icon sets, rename the ranks and change the kill counts on the dashboard's Leaderboards page. #auto-leaderboard keeps one message up to date.

Global ranks

A position among every linked player on every server that opts in, by total kills: #212 of 3,142. Cards show it and the climb since the last update. Unlinked players show "Unranked · /link". #global-leaderboard keeps one message up to date.

Board sizes: /killfeed boards server:20 global:30 (10 to 50). Boards over 10 rows render in two columns.

Anti-cheat and PC players

What the bot flags, and what it can ban on its own.

Alerts

Impossible ranges, teleporting, skywalking, boosting, combat logging, headshot ratios, sprees, raids, name changes and banned devices land in #admin-alerts with Ban / Dismiss buttons. Tune thresholds with /alerts set or on the dashboard.

PC players

/pc policy: flag only, ban until linked in Discord, or allow approved players only. Xbox detection uses OpenXBL when a key is set.

Automatic bans

/autoban level:off|high|all decides which alerts ban by themselves. Watched zones can ban on entry, kill or build.

Discord-linked whitelist

/killfeed whitelist enabled:on: only gamertags linked to a Discord account at least 30 days old can join, and a ban also bars that Discord account.

Shop and in-game delivery

Kits spawn at the buyer's drop point after the next restart.

1

Switch on delivery

Turn on cfggameplay.json in Nitrado, then press Set up shop delivery on the /setup panel (or /shop delivery action:setup). The bot finds your mission folder, backs up cfggameplay.json and adds its delivery file.

2

The item list

The kit builder starts with Bohemia's official types.xml for your map, from Bohemia's public Central Economy repository, checked for updates daily. Running modded or edited loot? Upload types.xml on the dashboard Shop page, or Read types.xml from server, and kits use yours. /shop catalogue action:default switches back.

Tip: Bohemia has not published a Badlands list yet; Badlands servers get the Chernarus list until they upload their own.

3

Build kits

Click class names to build a kit of up to 20 different items, each up to 20 deep and 60 objects in all (ten logs and a plank pile, say). Set price, category, stock, a daily restock, a per-player daily limit and an optional role gate.

Tip: Vehicles spawn bare: put 4 wheels, a battery, a spark plug and a radiator in the kit so it drives away.

4

Players buy

Players /ping on flat open ground, save it as a drop point, then /shop view or Open shop on the pinned board in #shop. A queued order can be cancelled for a refund until the restart.

Factions and territory

Groups of up to 30 with a Discord role, a shared bank and a tag in the killfeed. Faction mates cannot collect bounties on each other.

Roles

One leader, any number of co-leaders (invite, kick, change settings, withdraw) and members. Handing over leadership keeps the old leader as a co-leader.

Identity

Name, [TAG], colour (also the role colour), motto, a bio of up to 500 characters, the in-game flag on their flagpole and the armband members wear. /faction set or the dashboard.

Territory

Staff draw it on the dashboard (Zones, kind Faction territory). When an outsider walks in, the faction role is pinged in #zone-alerts, or the leader and co-leaders get a DM.

Bank

/faction deposit by anyone, /faction withdraw by leaders. Staff can add or remove with a reason; every change is in the faction's history.

Zones

Places on the map the bot watches. Players get base alarms; staff get watched zones, faction territory and airdrop sites.

Base alarms (players)

/zone create while standing at your base (or give x and z). Up to 3 per player, 25 to 500 m. A DM, or a ping in #zone-alerts, when anyone else walks in; faction mates never trigger it.

Watched zones (staff)

An alert in #admin-alerts when a player enters, kills or builds inside. Up to 25. Optional ban on entry, kill or build with /alerts zone set.

Drawing them

Dashboard → Zones: pick Circle (press and drag) or Polygon (click the corners, then the first point or double-click). Drag a zone to move it, drag its handles to reshape it, then Save zone.

Airdrop sites

Places /airdrop and the automatic drops pick from. Watched zones also count as sites.

Understanding coordinates

Every position in DayZ is metres from the bottom-left corner of the map.

x runs east and z runs north (height is ignored). Chernarus and Sakhal are 15,360 m across, Livonia 12,800 m and Badlands 16,384 m. The bot shows positions as six-digit grid references: 133 082 means 13.3 km east, 8.2 km north.

Tip: on iZurvive, hover the map and read the game coordinates (large numbers like 5917, 10808), not the small GPS-style values. Every grid reference the bot posts links to that spot on iZurvive.

Tell your players

Paste this into your announcements channel.

The killfeed is live! Link your gamertag so your kills count:
• /link name:YourGamertag (in #link-gamertag)
• /stats and /leaderboard (in #stats-leaderboards)
• /daily, /work, /trick and /crime to earn credits, /bank to keep them safe (in #economy)
• /bounty to put a price on someone's head
• /ping, save a drop point, then Open shop in #shop (or /shop view)
• /faction create to start a crew, /zone create for a base alarm
• /report if you see a cheater

Troubleshooting

The usual suspects.

I can't find the bot's commands
Press Ctrl+R to reload Discord, and run /setup once after an update. If other bots crowd the list, type / and click the VIP Killfeed icon, or turn the other bots off in our channels (Server Settings → Integrations).
"The bot is missing …" or "Discord refused"
Press Fix bot permissions on the panel and authorize with every box ticked. Still failing: Server Settings → Roles, drag the VIP Killfeed role above the roles it manages.
No kills are showing up
/killfeed status shows the last poll and any Nitrado error. Check admin logs are on; a fresh log only starts after a restart.
Shop delivery can't find cfggameplay.json
Turn it on in Nitrado and restart once so Nitrado creates it, then press Set up shop delivery again and pick your mission folder.
I changed or deleted my Nitrado token
Run /setup and press Reconnect Nitrado with the new token. Stats and settings are kept.
vipbot.dev shows a certificate warning at work or school
That network inspects HTTPS and blocks new domains. Ask its admins to allow vipbot.dev, or use mobile data.
